Eligibility
All district-certified teachers engaged in integrating agricultural concepts into classroom settings at the K-12 grade levels are eligible. Examples may include involvement in school gardens, school farms, student nutrition, environmental education, etc. CFAITC will recognize and award individuals for the following categories:
- Overall Literacy for Life Award (all teachers, grades K-12)
- Vocational Agriculture Literacy for Life Award (for vocational agriculture teachers only)
- Emerging Seed Literacy for Life Award (teachers newly incorporating agriculture)
Awards
Winners will have the opportunity to receive many awards, including:
- $1000 Cash Prize (Overall and Vocational Agriculture)
- $500 Cash Prize (Emerging Seed)
- Recognition in CFAITC publication Cream of the Crop and other media
- Expense paid trip to the 2009 National AITC Conference (St. Louis, MO)
- Expense paid trip to the 2009 CA Farm Bureau Federation Annual Meeting (Anaheim, CA)
- Expense paid trip to the 2009 California AITC Conference (Sonoma County, CA)
